Some Family Photography

We had a photographer take some family pictures back in March/April. Here are a few:

So it's been a fun past couple of weeks. Father's Day was a blast! Our friends, Ana and Steve, from Spring Lake, NC came to visit for the weekend and meet Mikey. Kaitlyn and Mikey gave Daddy a travel coffee mug with thier 'mugs' on it. Kaitlyn also made Daddy a picture and a paper tie that she fingerpainted all by herself. Then we all had yummy Father's Day ice cream cake from Bruesters.

We got a special visit from Grandpa Critchfield! Kaitlyn also showed off her sign language to Grandpa. She was very proud of herself! He only got to stay for a little while but it was so nice to see him (come back and visit soon, Grandpa!):

We stole a page out of my cousin Nycole's playbook and Kaitlyn fingerpainted with colored shaving cream (thanks for the idea Nycole!):

Mikey is growing like a weed. At his 4 month check up he weighed 18 pounds, 11 ounces and was 26 1/2 inches long! He's wearing size 9-12 month clothes. He's going to catch up to Kaitlyn in no time! He also had his first cereal. He's a messier eater than Kailtyn was, but he caught on quick and finishes a whole bowl now:

It's been HOT which can only mean one thing: more pool time!

By the way-- this is Kaitlyn's new favorite 'face'. She makes it all of the time!

We love to go to the libary and go at least once a week for story time and to check out new books:

We went to a Moms Club picnic this week. Kaitlyn got her face painted for the first time!

Please don't think that the irony of these shirts is lost on me. Next time I will buy 'Little Sister' and 'Big Brother' shirts.

A Week in the Life

An example of a week in the life of the Burke's.
MONDAY-
We are pet sitting for our neighbors this week and Fluffy came to visit. Kaitlyn was in charge of helping feed him-- she made sure to remind me EVERY morning!

MONDAY CONT.-
Went on a tour of our local fire station- Thank you to the Fort Mill Fire Dept and a special thanks to Officer Patrick Geil for giving such great information and being so great with the kids!

MONDAY CONT.-

Kaitlyn got to play with her new present from Daddy- a sandbox!

MORE MONDAY-
Just had to throw these in too:

TUESDAY-
Took Kaitlyn and Mikey (and the car) through a car wash!

TUESDAY CONT.-

Another trip to the neighbor's pool as soon as Daddy got home from work:

WEDNESDAY:

No big deal, just my 3 month old sitting up.

THURSDAY-
Went to 'Story Time' at the Library where Kaitlyn got to finger paint. She loves to get her hands stamped at the end of class! Did a lot of playing outside and had peanut butter and bananas for lunch (Kaitlyn, not Mikey).
Also caught this:

FRIDAY-
Gymboree first thing after breakfast! Kaitlyn LOVES to go- she runs around and goes on all of the obstacles in the room. She plays with the parachute and pops bubbles with her friends!

Getting ready to go! Yes, Mom let me pick out my own shoes today.

Mikey is going to class now too, but he normally sits quietly in a corner while Kaitlyn plays with her friends. Today, I caught him flirting with Ms. Dana!
