Honkey Hike

We went on a hike with our friends at the Anne Close Greenway. There are are a bunch of trails, people ride and keep their horses there, there is a swinging bridge--just an all in all fun place to go.
The kids had a blast feeding the horses hay, walking to the bridge and then across it.
Then we came across some donkeys. The kids had all walked up to them and were trying to pet them. I was just explaining to Kaitlyn that there was no food to feed these donkeys and they might think our fingers are carrots, so 'let's keep our fingers away from them', when I heard a piercing cry. Sure enough, Mikey's fingers were being perceived as 'carrots'. It didn't break the skin or hurt him too bad. When I finally got him calmed down a little, I asked him if he was really hurt and he said 'No, I just skeeered. That Honkey bit me! That Honkey thinks my peenger is a carrot!' We all started back on our hike (with Mikey still crying) and started to walk away. As soon as we left, the donkeys started braying so loud! I told Mikey- 'see, the donkey is saying 'sorry' for biting your finger and thinking it was a carrot!!'. He said 'YEAH- that Honkey say sorry, but I still crying!!'

Imfamous Mr. Honkey

That Honkey bit my peenger. He say sorry like this: Haaawwwwnkey, Haaaawwwnkey!

We're BACK!!!

So, we decided to take a session (8 weeks) off of swim thinking that the kids wouldn't really miss it during the winter and trying to save some $$. Well, we decided to put them back in right away- it's great exercise for them (especially in these winter months when they don't get outside as much), they're doing so well we didn't want them to start to regress, and of course, they love it!
