Campout in the Playroom

We had a family sleepover in the playroom... minus Mikey (he decided his crib was way more comfy than the silly floor or the pack-and-play!). We made tents, watched some shows and then went to bed. Even Veda joined in the fun.

Mikey's First Haircut

So if you've noticed in recent posts, he's been looking a little shaggy. Ok, a LOT shaggy! It was time to take the bull by the horns and tame the beast. I knew I was going to document this momentous occasion as it was our first visit to a hair salon for either of our children (no-- Kaitlyn has not had her first hair cut yet- YIKES!). Auntie Kerri came with Mikey and Mommy and I took several cute pics of Mikey giving Kerri big hugs and kisses. Then he sat in the race car seat and drove the car and honked the horn- 'beep, beep' So cute and about 100 more pictures! He had no problems at all (just a little nervous when the clippers came out and were buzzing near his ears) and was SO handsome! I got to save a couple of his baby curls for his baby book and I managed to stifle back the tears. Then we ran errands the rest of the afternoon and when I got home I realized I had lost my camera. with. all. of. my. pictures. of. my. baby's. first. haircut!
Gone.
Will I ever forgive myself?
Time will tell. I managed to save this one that I had taken with my phone to send to Daddy of the finished product of our handsome man:

Luckily, Kerri had her camera with her too and I will post more pictures as soon as I get them!

Mother/ Son Trip to Boston

Mikey and I took a trip to Boston all by ourselves to visit Mimi and Poppy and to surprise Auntie Kelli for her baby shower!! We flew on an airplane on Thursday and Mikey did so good he just played and then slept!

Mimi and Poppy came to pick us up-- it was Coooold! It was 80 degrees at our house when we left and when we landed at Mimi's house it was snowing! We went right away to Auntie Kelli's work at the bank and surprised her- she was so happy that she cried when she saw Mikey. Then we went to Mimi and Poppy's house and had yummy food and played. Mimi gave Mikey his first popsicle.

The next day we played in the snow a little (as much as Mommy could stand as it was too cold for her!).

Saturday was Kelli's big baby shower! We were so excited to celebrate with her.

After the shower, it was time to fly home again. This time Mikey had his own seat-- such a big boy!

We sure do love to visit our Poppy, Mimi, Kelli, Dennis, Uncle Matt, Auntie Dina, Ryan, Johnny and just EVERYONE..... but mommy sure did miss her Katie Bug. Next time we visit the whole family will have to come.
P.S.-- Kelli and Dennis, we love you so much and we can't wait to meet that baby!!! ;)

Meals in the Freezer- Accomplished Morning!

So I'm just going to brag... a little bit. I've seen all of these great ideas online for freezer crock pot meals and have thought, 'wouldn't it be nice to be able to throw something in the crock pot on a day I know we're going to be busy and out and about all afternoon and have a nice, healthy home cooked meal for the family?' Instead it's instant mac and cheese and frozen vegis! Well, I finally stopped thinking about it and got off my but and this morning did it. I picked this morning because we didn't have anything pressing going on and I figured it would take most of the morning if not the day with chasing the kids around. I found a really great website via Pintrest with easy recipes and simple ideas you can see here. So, I fed the kids breakfast, got them started playing some games and off I went. SO EASY and here is the finished product!!!

I didn't want to get TOO ambitious but there are 7 dinners there-- not too shabby!....

....and one in the crock pot for dinner tonight!

And to prove that it didn't take all morning there's the time! No sweat.
TADA!!! (Looking forward to the sausage and peppers for either the crock or for daddy to throw on the grill one evening or weekend afternoon!)
