Weekend at the Beach

We decided to take a weekend trip to Myrtle Beach and had a great time. Kaitlyn loved the beach and the waves and built castles with dad in the sand. The hotel we stayed at had several pools and we know how the kids love the water! Kaitlyn went on 'night swims' with dad and went on a night walk on the beach looking for shells. We also visited the local aquarium which the kids loved, of course! Love family weekends!!!!

Moments to Live For

So yesterday we were playing in the backyard. I had given Kaitlyn some bubbles since she has been practicing blowing them all by herself. I set Mikey up on a blanket and Kaitlyn had run over to her slide to do some climbing. I asked her if I could borrow her bubbles for Mikey while she was sliding and she said 'No, Mom' (which I hear about 537 times a day, by the way). So, I ran in the house to get another bottle of bubbles for Mikey. While I was inside, I glanced out the window to see if Mikey was still sitting up on his blanket or if he had rolled over..... this is what I saw (sorry, the quality is not great- I took it from inside the kitchen out the window):

I am so super lucky because I can honestly say that moments like these happen at least once a day- I'm just not as quick with the camera! I am so glad that the 'sibling love' is so strong in our house. Even if it doesn't last forever, I'll have these moments to reflect in the future.

Barnyard Fun

We visited a local barn and petting zoo with the Mom's Club this morning. We saw pigs, goats, a donkey, a pony, horses and rabbits. We got to feed the animals carrots and apples.

A BAND OF BURKES!!!

Uncle Kevin, Uncle Matt, Aunt Dina and Cousins Ryan and John came to visit!!!!!!! They spent 5 days at our house and it was AWESOME!! Kaitlyn and Mikey had such a good time. Here are some pictures of the visit:

Ryan WAS coloring at the table too, but by the time I got the camera, he had gone. I think it was to ask his mom if he could 'have another snack'!

It was a HOT weekend so we went to our local YMCA pool. The kids loved it so much we went twice!

The most wonderful thing to happen this weekend is that my son was Christened! It was so amazing to have family and great friends witness and celebrate with us.
