Big Girl Bed

It's happened..... we've moved on up to a big girl bed in our house:

 If you look closely in the photo above, you will note the reason we moved into the 'big girl bed'. There is no little girl IN the crib!

 It's been a couple of weeks now, and she's done so great. No problems at all- even at nap time. She really loves her bed (and especially that she can get as many books as she wants now!)

Kaitlyn's Locks

Finally time for Kaitlyn's first go-round at the chair. Long overdue, for sure- and the sad part is, Mikey needed another trim too! Bad. They both did great- Kaitlyn was a little hesitant at first, but after watching her brother get his hair chopped, she did great. Even sat still for a french braid and a glitter heart painted on her face afterwards! She thought she was the bees knees..... and let's face it: she IS (my boy ain't so bad either).

Easter Morning

We had special visitors this Easter (besides a special bunny). Aunt Cara and Uncle Gary along with cousins Emma, Madison and Zane came to visit. Daddy made us all a yummy blueberry pancake breakfast and we checked out what the Easter Bunny left us in our baskets. Kaitlyn was excited to find Ariel doll and chocolate. Mikey had his first peep! Afterwards we had a fun Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Mikey has gotten really good at finding the eggs and putting them in the basket! We had a yummy ham dinner and worked it off jumping in the bouncehouse. An awesome Easter with family!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Our annual Quail Ridge Easter Egg Hunt was a couple of weeks before Easter this year (so as not to conflict with the Easter Bunny's spring break!) which worked out fine for us. It had been a little rainy the day before so the community area can be a little muddy so Kaitlyn decided it would be better to be wear her rain boots. It was Mikey's first egg hunt and he loved it- even though he wasn't too sure what was going on , and he doesn't really like crawling on grass but other than that he liked it! He really liked the Easter bunny- Kaitlyn wouldn't get close and when we tried to introduce her, she started crying like a banshee, so that was nice. Not embarrassing at all. We cleaned up on the eggs, and since I'm still a stickler with that and only let Kaitlyn have one goody from her loot bag (I still have her halloween and valentine candy in a cabinet somewhere too), our pile is getting pretty big!
