Last Day of School

Yesterday was Kaitlyn's last day of Mom's Morning Out. I can't believe how fast time has gone. She has truly loved going to 'school'. She loves her friends, playing outside, snack time, singing songs, reading books but most of all- her teachers: Ms. Brenda and Mrs. Tracy. They have taught her so much and we are going to miss them... but not too much as we are very lucky because Mikey will get to have them next year!! On her last day we got to have a family picnic. Kaitlyn was SO excited! It was a fun day- I couldn't tell who had a better time- Kaitlyn or Mikey! I was having some reservations on sending Mikey next year but after seeing him interact with the teachers and other children, I think he'll have a BLAST! So... bring on the summer!!!
Off to her last day of school!

Yummy picnic with her class!

Zoo Weekend

Kaitlyn is, of course, obsessed with all kinds of animals. We read all kinds of books about different animals, she plays with all of her animal toys and puppets and she loves to make her animal sounds (and Mikey copies).  So we decided to take a family trip to the Asheboro zoo and visit some awesome family friends at the same time. Ana and Steve Blackburn (our neighbors from when we lived in Spring Lake, NC) met us at the zoo for family fun day! This is Kaitlyn's 3rd zoo trip (2nd to this zoo) and Mikeys 2nd zoo visit (1st time to this zoo). We had such a fun time!

'Mikey, did you see that monkey?!!!'

After the zoo, we went back to Steve and Ana's house for the night for a sleep over (that way we could have some of Ana's famous waffles in the morning!!).

Slip-N-Slide

Earlier this week we came home from running some errands and Kaitlyn saw the neighbors across the street playing in a slip-n-slide. Of course she was fascinated so we went over to check it out. After watching the kids do a few passes, she was all in. She stripped of her dress right there and got in right in line with the other kids! (Excuse the quality of the pics, I haven't bumped up to an IPhone yet, so these are only 'smart phone' grade!!) P.S. Yes, her underwear IS on backwards-- it almost always is since she dressing herself most days now. That's just our life!:

My Personal Vacation

Sometimes (ok, lets face it... a lot of times!), I think to myself  'man, I would like a nice vacation on the beach with my family'. Or I see pictures of my friends or family going on vacation and I think to myself that it sure would be nice to be going there too.

But then I have a reality check. Most people need vacations from their own reality, and my reality ain't so bad. Day to day it's awesome. I get to spend every waking moment with my two awesome kids and even though we may not be at the beach or in the mountains we're here:

My blessings are MANY and GREAT!!!!! Who needs a vacation from THIS?!
