On Thursday afternoon at work, I was walking the sidewalk around the playground during recess. I had just gotten a text from one of the teachers I work with and was answering it when, you guessed it, I dropped the phone. The same iPhone and cover that I have had (and dropped many times!!) for years. This was the final straw and my phone cracked into a hundred peices.
When I called Mike to tell hm about. It, he reminded me that we have 'Apple care' which replaces your phone if you have an accident (you can only use this TWICE and I have already used one when my phone took a dip in Papa Joe's pool!!). Mike was a dream and the next day took the afternoon off of work so he could get a new phone for me. He got home Friday evening with a new phone JUST in time for our family to make it to the neighborhood Halloween picnic. As soon as we got to the picnic, I sat down on a bench and felt the brand. new. phone. slip. out. of. my. pocket..... And crash into a hundred peices. Yep. It's surely happened.
I didn't even have it for an hour. Because it was Halloween night, I decided to continue to use the phone so I could take pics of the kids trick-or-treating.
The next morning, I woke up with my thumb swollen and painful. I couldn't move it. So weird! I eventually made my way to urgent care to have them tell me that I probably got a peice of glass in it and prescribed me an antibiotic. I made the HUGE mistake of refusing pain meds that I thought I wouldn't need. I slept zero hours and on Sunday morning my thumb looked like this:
So, back to urgent care to request the pain meds and when the doctor saw me, he sent me straight to the ER for a fun filled afternoon of IV antibiotics and lancing and draining!!!!
Today, I went to work and came home like this:
