April Update

Ok. It's blatantly obvious that I've been serious lacking lately. So-- here's a quick photo review of April in the life of the Burke's:

Mikey says this is HIS truck!

Almost!

'I didn't do anything'

'What baby powder?'

Team Brandon

Please take a second to check out my cousin and her awesome family. Her husband is in critical need of a life saving double lung transplant and they need our help. Please pass the word- your prayers and support are appreciated!

Team Brandon: Welcome!

EASTER! EASTER!

We had so much fun this year to celebrate our Easter fun! The kids had 5 (that's right- 5) Easter egg hunts over the weeks and the Easter bunny came and left lots of treats too. We had fun with our cousins again this year on Easter (we hope this will become a tradition!).

Hunting for eggs with friends at one of our favorite parks

Home from school showing mom our loot from our school Easter egg hunt!

Then off to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt to meet the Easter Bunny!!! (Mikey wasn't too sure!)

Breakfast Talk

Overheard this conversation at breakfast this morning:

K: Mikey, I so sorry. I SO sorry. *insert sniffles and fake cry here*

M: What?

K: I so sorry, my finger hurts. I have owie on my finger. *sniffle* *sniffle* I so sorry.

M: I kiss it. *gets up from his seat and gives her a kiss and a hug*

K: Thanks Mikey.

M: Thank you, Welcome.

St. Patrick

This year we took a ride on the light rail train (a first for the kids... and a BIG hit!) to Uptown Charlotte to watch the St. Patricks Day parade. It was so much fun. Kaitlyn liked the Irish Dancers and Mikey LOVED the bagpipes. He was marching and clapping his hands every time a new band came by. I love our 'Family Fun Days'

I Swim, You Swim....

The kids are both doing SO good with their swim lessons. Kaitlyn is back swimming with her favorite instructor, Mr. Rob. He says she is like a whole new girl and is doing terrific. Mikey is in a transitional class with Ms. Tara where I am only in the water with him at the very beginning of the class and then he is in the pool with his friends and the instructors all by himself. He doesn't even notice I'm not there! He is SUCH a big boy. Our own future Michael Phelps!

Mikey's first time by himself in class

There he goes!

Mom who?!

Sweet Dreams!

She slept like a 'baby' the first night. Said she had dreams of 'Mimi and Papi'. Went to school in the morning and ran in the room yelling to her teacher 'ME sleep in a Big Boy Bed! Me no sleep in a crib!' Please keep in mind she hasn't been sleeping in a crib for almost a year. Day 2- wanted to read some books in her new bed after lunch and was asleep in less than 5 minutes (Que choir singing 'Hallelujah here). So far, so good..... minus the tears of Mama watching her baby grow up WAY too fast.
