Yeah, yeah, ALRIGHT ALREADY. We know that I'm slacking off, big time. Get off my case, I have two kids you know (* disregarding the blank stares that come from all of friends, family and readers who all have at least three children. *).
Let's rewind it back and start slow so I don't forget anything (or too much at least!). Where were we before...ahhh, that's right, Swimming in October still. Enjoying our Indian Summer. So, what else is there to do in October-- other than go searching for the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. So, we did! We had a great time playing with and painting pumpkins with friends, and going to the pumpkin patch with Daddy and fun field trips with school to a Fall Festival where we got to pick pumpkins too!!
There was a pretty big birthday in our house- Katie is 4!!! (*sniff, sniff*). We had a blast of a costume birthday party with friends and family and our own Dorothy and Cowardly Lion. Kaitlyn requested a pink and purple cake with Princess Merida on top (Brave) which, of course, she got. We played in the backyard on a beautiful afternoon and topped it off with a fire pit, s'mores and glow sticks!
Halloween was a spooky as ever with Dorothy and the Lion. The MOMS Club took the kids trick-or-treating at an area retirement home which was SO cool. The kids went down the halls and met the residents as they gave out candy. It was a nice treat. Then we went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood which started with our annual Halloweenie Event here. The kids gorged on hot dogs and chips before going begging for candy! We actually made it to quite a few houses this year now that the kids are a little older- The SCORE was HUGE (don't worry, the dentist is on stand by)!
