Carving Pumpkin

We decided to take the opportunity while Mikey was taking a nap to carve our first family pumpkin. We had been talking to Kaitlyn about it for a couple of days so she was pretty excited about it and was ready to go....... until Daddy started pulling out the 'guts'! I can safely say we have a girly girl on our hands and she was sufficiently grossed out. It was pretty cute. She got into it though and especially after she saw the bowl of guts and Daddy handed her the big spoon-- she was Chef Kaitlyn! We even had our own small pumpkin 'catrastophe' when Kaitlyn took a tumble (that I, of course, managed to get on video!). All in all, I would say it was a success!!!

And just as always, a real champ-- not fussy or feverish at all. Just a brand new smile! And be careful- don't stick your fingers anywhere near those bad boys...... they HURT! ;)

2 Two Party!

Tutus and Ties for a Two year old, what could be more perfect? I decorated anything that stood still with tulle (for a second, because while she was sleeping I even put a tutu on Veda!). All of our guests arrived in tutus and ties. It was awesome-- it was a true event! We had 'push pop' cupcakes along with our hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. We did crafts-- handprint tutus and decorated ties (of course!). And had TWO bouncehouses (don't ask!)!! Holy TWO TWO!

Apple Picking

We took the kids to Hendersonville, NC in the mountains and went apple picking! I think Kaitlyn thought it was a giant Easter egg hunt with apples!! She loved it-- she kept exclaiming... 'oooohhh!!!' every time she saw apples on the ground (which were EVERYWHERE!) It was so funny. It was a beautiful day and a really nice apple orchard. We drove to another one down the road and picked out a few pumpkins to bring home too. Another great 'Family Fun Day'!
